Where can I find a side tent for my 79 vw westy, preferably original?

This is a tent that hooks to the side of the camper, but will remain standing if you want to leave for the day exploring.

Try thesamba.com. It's loaded with all things vintage VW. If you can't find an original there, GoWesty! makes excellent parts of all sorts for your camper. (I have a 1970 and owe many great thanks to GoWesty!)
Also try craigslist and ebay, but be willing to have patience.
You can also look into making your own tent -- there are patterns and instructions on the internet.
Also give the Yahoo group WetWesties a try -- it's free to join and it doesn't matter where you live, though they are based mainly in Oregon. Regardless of location, you'll never find a better resource for all your VW camper questions -- there are a ton of good, helpful people there!

Sure thing...go to either the Camping or Outdoor section of www.shopallstoresonline.com - there is a plethora of options. Best of luck finding your tent!
