Where can i buy a pretty/funky tent in australia?

onyx

I want a funky, floral or just different tent for festival camping but i cant find anywhere in australia everything i find is in the uk... anyone know anywhere or any sites

Answer
I think the stock standard festival tent is green with a silver fly! I don't think i've seen anything that looks any different. Make the festival that much more fun when you've had a few and you climb into someone else's tent because it looks the same as everyone else's.

Good luck!

Where is the best camping place in Tennessee in your opinion?I am planning to take my two boys (tent) camping for a week during spring break March 16-21. So I want to take them to a nice campground.
I have been looking in middle and east Tennessee.
Also do you know any good free primitive camping sites in middle or east Tennessee.

Answer
the great smoky mountains national park is an amazing place to go camping; 800 miles of trails, fishing, horseback riding, amazing waterfalls, tons of wildlife, camping there is $14-$23 a night; this is a great place to go camping, i have been there many times with my family and we can't wait to go back this summer

I really want to camp somewhere with nice scenery around Georgia or Tennessee with nobody around?

I've been trying to find a good spot to camp in where I don't have to deal with other campers or anything, I want to be in complete solitude with my buddy. Any ideas? I don't want to go to some cabin in a National Park with other people, I just want to bring a tent and camp somewhere nice for 3 days or something, please.

Answer
Tennessee has the Great Smokey Mountains. Pieces of it are very popular camp/trailer sites, but I'm sure there are tons of other places on site that are far less inhabited. The mountains are beautiful!

I have between 4 to 6 Adults and 2 or 3 small children and 2 cars. (not sure yet). We would like running water, but no electricity is not a big deal. We will be using tents and want to avoid the big RV parks and the commercial places. No Pools, golfcourses, clubhouses, arcades etc. We want our children to experience the rustic NH wilderness while still being safe. If anyone has any recommendations or knows a good place to look please help me out ! Thanks.

I guess this place turns into a city in the desart. How do I dind it on Google Earth or ???

Answer
You might be talking about Glamis dunes, but I think they are right inside the California border near Death Valley. I've been there and it gets INSANE. Fun as hell. It's in actual sand though, so make sure your vehicle has 4 wheel drive and bring an ATV or dirt bike for duning.

It's not really camping in a tent, it's more like RVs and campers. Anyway here is a site with maps and GPS coordinates for all the areas there. http://www.duneguide.com/sand_dune_guide_isdra_glamis.htm

The only other "city in the desert" I know about is Burning Man and that's in Nevada and it's not free. http://www.burningman.com/

If you are talking about something else, you may need some more specific info.

Chelsea

For spring break, my friends and I want to go somewhere camping, preferably in Georgia. We were thinking like some cheap cabin somewhere, probably 8 of us at the max. Things like hiking, maybe a beach within an hour or less drive, a little city. As cheap as possible! Any suggestions?

Answer
Ok,

I'm going to let you in on one of my secret spots...

Check this out, Set your tent right on a wild cascading mountain river. Go to sleep at night to the sounds of rushing water. Get up in the morning to a Beautiful mountain sunrise, eat a nice breakfast, and spend the day Hiking nearby trails, or trout fishing for huge trout right on the river by your tent. If you like tubing, kayaking, or canoeing awesome mountain waters, this is the perfect spot for you. This campground also rents out canoes, tubes, and kayaks, with shuttle service right back to the campground.

For dinner, you can grill out with a awesome Mountain view , or choose a short drive down the street to a renowned riverside country food restaurant with riverside patio dining.

This is the Toccoa Valley campground.
It's up in the Blue ridge mountain area off of Aska Rd. about an hour outside of Atlanta.

Hope you enjoy, this is one of my all time favorite camping spots, and trust me I am a avid camper...

what is a footprint for tents?

Joe Bundia

i am going camping in west virginia and just purchased a eureka one man tent for about $150, what is a footprint and would you recomend one?
where can i find a footprint that is the exact size of the eureka backcountry 1 tent???

Answer
The footprint is the modern version of a ground cloth or tarp. In the "old days" (I still use one), campers use to just plop down a ground cloth and then put the tent over the top. Nowadays they have manufactured ground clothes that are the exact shape of the tent floor and clip into the tent itself.

A ground cloth or a footprint can extend the life of your tent by protecting the floor from direct contact with ground by keeping it clean and preventing punctures.

I don't personally use footprints...I use a ground cloth. It's much cheaper and almost as convenient. I one of those high end "space blankets" (not the mylar emergency ones) and have the reflective surface up to reflect any body heat back.

Camping advice in Virginia area? Good prices and/or free?

Hoopla!

I want to go camping somewhere out a little farther than Richmond VA, but still in Virginia. What are some either free or "cheap" campsites in Virginia? I would like to camp in a tent but also if good cabin prices would be nice too. I'd like some advice of some fun places to go. I'd like to stay about 3-5 days and so would need showers. And I'd like to be near water with places to hike or things to do. Help would be nice :) Thank you.

Answer
Ok free camping is called dispersed or boondock camping and unless you bring a bathroom with you there won't be any. National forests allow free dispersed camping, some sites are accessible by car most you have to hike in to.
http://www.fs.usda.gov/activity/gwj/recreation/camping-cabins

"Cheap" campsites come next, these are forest service campsites that have little to no features and may only have a pit toilet at best, prices vary by demand but are usually around $10-$20 a night. Also listed on the above web site

Next would be full service campgrounds where if you had an RV you could roll right up hook in your RV to water sewer and electric and have all the comforts of home. Again these sites vary by demand and could be as low as $20 or as high as $200 or more per night depending on private or public operation and available amenities. http://woodalls.com/ lists all that there is.

Last is Cabin rental now some forests have government owned cabins you can rent for low cost anywhere from $50 to again several hundred based on location and demand these would be listed under the same category as the campground info of the forest service web sites. Private ownership cabins are easy to yahoo search for and prices again very all the way into the thousands.

Good Luck!

How much does tent camping cost at campsites?

best tent camping food on Mediatinker: August 2004 Archives
best tent camping food image

Hikari

I want to go to Ft. Davis, Texas to see stars at some point in the future. But I don't know if camping would be cheaper than getting a hotel. Or if you can see the stars are different camp sites or what.

But the point is, I've never gone camping. So how much do campsites generally cost?

Answer
Fees depend on amenities, location, time of year, and whether it is private or publicly owned.

Generally speaking:
tent sites with no amenities run free-$10/night
State parks with a bathhouse and water run $5-15/night
State parks with electric hookups, water, and bathhouse run $15-30
Private full ameniy places are usually $20-40++

Keep in mind that you'll probably need some equipment that will run a couple hundred or more for a decent tent, bag, sleeping pad, a camp kitchen. If you plan on doing this alot, invest in the best.

The bottom line is that going camping for only a few days is more expensive than a cheap hotel if you never plan on going again. But, once you invest in some long lasting gear, you'll be able to camp for about 25% of the motel costs, stay in better locations, and enjoy the autonomy and adventure of the outside.

Also, you'll save money on food if you cook at the camp rather that dine out like you'd have to with a motel.

How uncomfortable could tent camping be at the Grand Canyon's south rim be in mid November?

veropie13

Weather forecasts are clear and sunny to partly sunny ranging from 9-56 degrees Fahrenheit with no severe wind. I've never been camping in cold weather with a 5 and 3 year old. Been told that the GC is beautiful in fall. Any advice?

Answer
Thanks Steve
This isn't really a GCNP question; it's more of a sleeping in a tent in really cold weather at 7000' question
If you're sleeping outside once you get below around 25 F you are dealing with a new world that has new rules and new strategies to deal with such as:
Peeing before you go to sleep b/c sleeping with a full bladder will drop your core temp
Sleeping with your boots inside of your sleeping bag
If you put bottles of warm water inside of a wool sock and then inside of your boots.you will have a pre-warmed sleeping bag and liquid water in the AM
Make 100% sure that the bottles don't leak
Sleeping with your mini -flashlight and digital camera inside of your sleeping bag b/c batteries die real quickly as the temp drops
Not using any kind of air mattress under you b/c the convective property of air will rob you of heat :Use closed cell foam instead
In cold weather I normally sleep in poly-pro long johns ,a wool beanie and wool fingerless gloves ..and then i graze on hi-calorie food during the night
I once came within 400' of literally dying of hypothermia while hiking the White Mountains of NH...so I take hypothermia seriously
I'm a big strong person with huge amounts of energy reserves ...and still I almost died within sight of safety
However if I was a 3 or a 5 year old child I of course wouldn't have anywhere near those kind of reserves and if I was the parent of those children I would be very aware of how easy it would be for their core temps to drop and how hard it would be to get those temps back up to where they need to be
Just so you know there is a clinic in GCNP But the nearest hospital is in Flagstaff which is at least an overland hour away
Speaking of Flag ,Peace Surplus will rent you zero degree bags.Since you're not going to be carrying them weight is not an issue so save the money and get a synthetic bag or two
http://www.peacesurplus.com/
If you place the two children in one bag and yourself in the other you might be able to do this safely
Oh yeah GCNP is really pretty in late Fall [even more so if it snows ] and the smell of burning the Ponderosa pine that the lodges burn just fills the air
Enjoy the Park

I am an inexperienced camper and would love to plan a camping trip somewhere in Minnesota preferably during the fall season. Any input, advice and stories is much appreciated. Thanks.

Answer
I recommend Colman tents They have a stay dry guarantee and come in price ranges to fit every budget.

My second choice is the REI quarter-dome tent. A bit more on the pricey side but for weight to room ratio and again great weather protection it can't be beat. A lot of other tent makers have tried to copy this tent but none come close to be as good.

What should I consider when purchasing a winter camping tent?

tents for camping in winter on You don't have to be mad to camp in winter | Travel | The Observer
tents for camping in winter image

Anita

I am planning my first winter camping and I need to purchase a winter camping tent. What should I consider when buying it?

Answer
Freestanding
Choose a freestanding or dome tent that needs few or no ropes or tent stakes for support. Tent stakes are easily lost, and staking out a tent in the snow can be difficult. A freestanding tent allows you to be flexible with location while still feeling secure in the tentâs structure. Keep in mind, however, that a freestanding tent is easily tossed in windy conditions but can be weighted down with gear on the inside or rocks on the outside.

Support
Four-season tents are designed with snow load in mind and have sturdy, strong support poles. Avoid tents with large, unsupported, low-angled areas that can accumulate snow and possibly cause the tent to collapse.

Size
Choose a tent that's rated for one more person than will actually be using the tent. The additional space will come in handy for bulkier cold-weather sleeping bags and extra winter gear. In addition, harsh weather can force campers indoors more often in the winter, and the extra space can help campers pass the time more comfortably. Furthermore, you may want to consider a tent with a vestibule area where you can leave snow-covered boots or cook inside when necessary.

Is there any place to camp near a ski resort? Preferably up one of the cottonwoods outside salt lake?

bobzafish

Basically are there any places in the U.S. to camp near a ski resort IN THE WINTER. If it is an RV place that is better than nothing but I am really looking for tent camping.

Answer
Not that I know of. Most campgrounds close for the winter due to snowfall (the grounds aren't maintained) not to mention the cold temps.

Hey I want to know somethings about backpacking around europe and hoe much it is going to cost?

best tent camping europe on camping tent description camping tent xq d012 size 240x240x175cm fly ...
best tent camping europe image

Lala

i am planning to take a month/ month 1/2 to backpack through europe before I go to college, my 18th birthday. I am currently 16 going on 17. I just want to know some things to take into account and maybe howmuch it will cost so I can start saving up. I plan to go to England for a week and then start from Portugal to where ever I end up. Any info or maybe one of your own expirence that you would like to share I will truely appreciate. Thank you.

Answer
Been packpacking first time in 1976 and visited just about all the European countries. The cost depends very much on where you travel. My son has traveled on 10 dollars a day in eastern Europe sleeping in hostels.

Travelling is not that expensive and easy to plan eurailpass for youth costs currently $634.00 for one moth travel in Austria 3, Belgium 3, Denmark 3 , Finland 3, France 2, Germany, 3 Greece 2, Holland 2, Hungary 1, Italy 2, Luxembourg 3, Norway 4, Portugal 1, Republic of Ireland 3, Romania 0 , Spain 2, Sweden 3 and Switzerland 4.

You can also extend your trip to Czeck 1 and Slovakia 0 you have to buy the train tickets, but prices of them are very reasonable and would certainly recommend Prague (old city and center price level 3 all other 1). Other Cities definately worth seeing are: Porto (take a tour in port cellar) and Barcelona maybe also Paris, Cologne, Amsterdam, Delft (Holland), Annecy (France), Berlin, Copenhagen.

I have number behind each giving idea of price level there this correspons the price level on regular towns not historic city centers etc...

4 - much higher than states
3 - somewhat higher than states
2 - states level
1 - below states
0 - way below

The main thing determining your budget is accommodation: hotel, hostel with private room annd shower, hostel without neither, camping. If you travel in the summer its a good idea to have sleeping bag and a light tent with you gives you freedom. A good way to cut cost is to take night trains you cover a lot a ground while sleeping (sleeping bag handy).

Travelling alone is not a problem in Europe even for a lady. You might get some whistles in Italy but thats about all. Having companion is also nice and cuts a bit on your budjet if you prefer private rooms (double room usually costs about the same as single). Especially in the summer you can also find companion in the trains with thousands of backpackers just like yourself and then maybe spend a week in some companion and then split. The girl from my neighbuor (19 y) did that.

Have fun and realize your dream.

What is the best way to travel and not spend a bunch of money?

PikabOO:)

So, i'm thinking of traveling round Europe with friends this summer and we want to spend as fewer money as possible. Any good tips?

Answer
stay at backpacking hostels, youth hostels, buy an interrail ticket, eat picknick from the supermarkets, occasional camping (bring a tent).

use the book europe on a shoestring or a lonely planet travel guide.

Single parent holidays with teenagers in UK?

Claire

I want to take my two children (a boy and a girl) on holiday this summer as it may be the last time before my daughter goes to university. We haven't got much money and want to go somewhere in the south of England, but how on earth do I keep two teenagers amused?! I am at least grateful that they are willing to consider coming away with me. I will be happy reading a book and relaxing and we can eat simply but I hate camping, so any ideas welcome!

Answer
Have you tried contacting Small Families, the tour operator who specialise only in providing holidays for single parents.

Small Families use a very pleasant hotel complex in Torquay (don't worry, not a tent in sight!). Groups are usually around 10 single parents (mums and dads) + children, so the children have instant new friends and the parents have instant adult company. The hotel has an extensive games room, indoor & outdoor pools and full evening entertainment programme, (all you need then is the weather!). Website is www.singleparent.travel

cheap and quality family tent?

top rated tents for family camping image

my family wanna go camping in several days in Georgia National Park,we need a camping tent and some cooking supplies.pls kindly recommend cheap and quality ones.thx 4 ur kindness.

Answer
As long as the weather is fair you can make almost any tent work for you. The Coleman Instant Tent 6 or 8 person models are preferred by many because they are easy to set-up and take down, but run in the $150-200 range. The Coleman Sundome Chris recommends is a good, low-priced tent, but is not as spacious or easy to setup as the Instant Tent, thought it would probably do better in the rain. Choose the one that makes the most sense based on your family size, allowing extra capacity so you can keep your clothing inside without being cramped.

You can use blankets from home or buy sleeping bags to make your bed. If choosing sleeping bags, pick a model that is rated at least 20*F lower than the coldest temperature you expect to encounter. You can always unzip the bag if it gets too warm, or sleep on top. Again, Coleman makes some decent fair-weather sleeping bags, also look at Kelty and Slumberjack. Expect to pay $50 and up for a decent sleeping bag, typically the more money you spend the smaller the bag will be when packed away.

Whether you use blankets or a sleeping bag you will want to have some padding underneath you. Some use cots, which cost around $100 each. Some are ok with foam pads, costing from $8 to $50. Then there's self-inflating mattresses, $50-150, which use expandable foam and air for padding and insulation. Finally you can use regular blow-up air mattresses, which range from $20 to over $100 and are available in single, double, queen and king sizes. In colder weather, foam and self-inflating mattresses are the best choice, as cots and air mattresses provide no insulation value.

In terms of cooking, a two-burner Coleman propane stove costs around $50, and disposable 16oz propane canisters cost between $2.50 and $3.50, each will last about 2 days. You can bring pots, pans and cooking utensils from home. You might need to bring one or two folding tables (1 to cook at, the other to eat at, about $45 each) and folding chairs ($15 to 75 each, depending on model). And a battery-operated lantern ($40-75). Use disposable plates, bowls and eating utensils to save money and time cleaning. You will also need coolers to keep your food and beverages cold. The Coleman Xtreme coolers are the best available for the money, and I recommend you get two: one for food and the other for beverages.

Don't forget some trash bags, napkins, paper towels, dish soap and hand soap. And a collapsible trash can is convenient. Also, a first aid kit is a good idea.

All this stuff is available at most WalMart stores.

Going camping need help planing?

Sonny JR

Hey guys im going camping with some friends on a beach about ten all up we have 2 tents one for chick and one for guys is there anything we need to bring or just some ideas on how to plan this so it goes smoothly

the only plan we have right now is to bring up a boat and go fishing

Answer
Car camping means that everything and the kitchen sink could make the listâafter all, it's the perfect synch between comfort and the outdoors. That said, the trick is to bring enough items that stand in for traditional home-bound amenities while still reinforcing the pleasures of being outdoors. To assure that, bring enough outdoor toys (soccer balls, footballs, Frisbeesâthe list is endless), never let anyone retreat to the mini-van DVD player, and, most important, take a page from the backpacker's philosophy: Leave No Trace; pack out what you pack in, keep the trash far away from the fires, and leave the place the way you found it. Not only is that the environmentally savvy thing to do, but it also bestows the right message to your friends.

And when it comes to foodâplan by meal based on your schedule, then aim for one- or two-pot meals like pancakes or stew, and be sure to pack enough fruit and other snack items to stave off hunger between meals.

I would like for my family to go camping in colorado springs this year as our family vacation but I dont know if its too hot for a tent or would we be better off getiing a cabin. We are from Louisiana so camping during July in tents are only for the extremest becasue the humidity and heat are unbareable during the summer.

Answer
In Springs in July, yes it would be to hot in a tent.(Try Cascade, Woodland Park or Lake George all close to Springs)

Springs however is right up against the mountains, and temps less than 10 miles from town may be a lot cooler. (don't forget that temperatures can dip down pretty low at night even in July, one year on the 4th of July I was camping in Leadville and it got down to 23F after leaving Pueblo at 103F)

Are alligators a safety issue while canoeing/kayaking on the Mississippi River?

Darry

I'm planning a kayaking trip through Louisiana to the Gulf of Mexico - Anyway back to the question...
Is this a major safety issue? Would is pose as a threat if I am camping along the river? What should you do if you did encounter one?

Answer
Ok, I don't have stats for that area, but here in Florida, in the past 50 years or so, alligators have been responsible for about 26 human fatalities... compare that with dogs, which kill more people every year, and really, alligators aren't too much of a threat at all...

What time of year do you plan on going? Just to be on the safe side, I would avoid late March through May, due to courtship and territorial issues... most "attacks" on canoes and kayaks are misunderstandings... gator is hanging out on the bank, paddler comes around a corner too close, scares the gator, gator makes a break for deeper water and bumps the bottom of the boat on it's way, ~however~ during that time of year, all a gator cares about is the fact that there is something else as long (or longer) than it "swimming" through it's turf, when real attacks on kayaks or other small craft do occur, they are usually during that time frame. (early this year an 11 footer attacked a kayak on the Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge... luckily it was shallow water and the gator was more concerned with the kayak than anything else)

Fed alligators pose a special problem... they don't recognize the specific people who feed them, they just recognize the basic shape... I know of several boat ramps here in Florida that have had trouble due to people feeding alligators (or "improperly disposing of fish cleanings") where every small boat that was launched would be bumped by large alligators... again, I don't know the stats up that way, but I'm sure it's similar... 95% of attacks by alligators here in Florida link back to the gator being fed.

My suggestions? Avoid being out on the water at dawn and dusk... alligators are crepuscular, most of their hunting takes place during these times.

As inviting as it may be, don't decide to go swimming if it's not in a designated swimming area... You're in their turf, the very few "unprovoked" fatal attacks here in Florida have been on people swimming in remote areas and the attacks were all by extremely large alligators.

Stay back from overgrown shorelines... just because most "attacks" on kayaks are bump and runs, doesn't mean that some surly gator won't wreck your 'yak any time of year... if there's a bunch of cover, assume there's an alligator, and give it plenty of room so it knows you're not a threat... try not to make them feel trapped (remember, alligators are more comfortable and feel safer in the water than out of the water.)

Don't feed them... this includes "incidental feeding" If you're catching fish for shore lunch, don't throw your cleanings back in the water... catch a trash fish? Treat it like it's a game fish and let it regain it's strength after a fight and swim off on it's own rather than just tossing it back... tired injured fish that have been caught and released are an easy meal for alligators, and they ~do~ know what a person with a fishing pole means.

Pick as open of a bank as you can find when going in to camp... cattails and other clumps of vegetation are ambush points for alligators... you want to be able to see as much of the shoreline as you can, and not that I think an alligator would come up into your campsite and bust into your tent to get you, but set up camp as far back from the water as possible...

While alligators deserve every scrap of respect you can give them, they aren't out to get anyone... however, if you do find yourself in an unlucky position, just remember that people who don't fight back don't get loose (not promising that everyone who fights back does get loose, but if you don't try, you've got no chance)... gator bumps your 'yak? Bump him back with your paddle if it's not a bump and run... heck, drop your anchor on his head if he gives you a chance and you need to... there aren't many soft spots on these animals, but if you're in the position where you need to use them, you need to know them... the fleshy spot where their nostrils are, eyes, and if you're unlucky enough to be in a position to take advantage of it the glottis (the flap at the back of the mouth that keeps the water out if they open their mouth underwater)... you find your hand in a gator's mouth, you grab for whatever you can get inside there if you've got any movement in your hand anymore.

Something else that I'm reminded of from when I was working on the tour boat... had a family from Louisiana on and they were commenting on how much bolder alligators here in Florida are than they are up that way... Louisiana has a much more extensive public hunt than Florida does, and alligators that way know that people are bad news... here in Florida people are more likely to feed them than shoot them, so ours are more.... "friendly" (please note the quotation marks... they're not really friendly at all...)

Main thing is just to give them room if at all possible.

Have fun, and wear a PFD.

my dad is 47 and i have no idea what to get him. My dad is very picky when he buys stuff.

**he's an engineer*

Answer
ask him stuff he needs and list some things you think are a good idea. My dad said he needed a recent picture of all of us (me my bro and my sis) for his office so were gonna get one for him and he likes music so my sis is gonna burn a cd of his fave songs from her ipod (trust me they are exactly alike music-wise so thats not a problem) you can get him a family picture um a gift card to his favorite store if he likes soccer you can get a jersey of his favorite player. Or a jersey of his favorite player from any sport. If he likes building you can give him a tools set. If he likes camping or hunting you can get him like a tent or a knife or a lantern. My dads steering wheel cover is messed up its broken so im gonna get him a new one of those. Think back to all those time you talked to your dad and hung out with him wat did he say he liked. One day get on your comp and pull up word or notepad and without letting your dad see you type it all down ask him "hey dad wat do you need or want anything for your car, the house, your office, your comp, wat do you want" trust me he will give ideas i got like 8 perfect ideas from my dad and just jot them down make a list show it to your siblings and your mother and then go and buy some of them. split up the gifts between your siblings after a while just thinking about your dad and who he is and wat he likes you'll get alot of ideas from your heart. Make him a homemade card and write something in it. Think about past gifts so you dont rebuy a gift. Get him the box set of his favorite tv show buy him his ultimately favorite movie does he like video games buy him a new one that he might like, maybe madden 2010 or NCAA 2010 if he likes football or FIFA 2010 hes your dad wat does he like think deep down in your heart "what does my daddy like?"

Help me become a person.?

She'll kno

I really need help on an issue that pops into my head every day.
Back in 2010, I was 16, I met someone, aged 15 and we kicked off quickly, after a bit of flirting and such, I asked her out, she said yes, that was that. Anyway, Exactly 11 days later, her Dad kicked her from the house, permanently, for an unknown reason. She said, that it was because she lost a tent, that we'd camped in 3 days prior. But that seems really far-fetched, especially after the events that followed. Anyway, she was privately fostered by my family, and we lived together, which seemed awesome. It wasn't. She started stealing money from my Grandma, through her credit card, who hadn't noticed, until eventually, £70 went missing, and was found in said Ex's wallet. She was granted another chance, and everything went downhill from here. Firstly, she stopped me seeing my friends, and no, it wasn't me choosing her over them, it was her physically putting me on constant lock-down. If I ever managed to get out, I'd receive a phone call; ''Baby I'm sick'' ''Baby I'm lonely'' and on one occasion, she was in 'intense agony' for some unknown reason. Me, being the sap I was, complied, out of guilt. That was my fault, but it's hard too tell a crying girl too f*ck off as-well. Throughout the relationship, fights and arguments broke out, and when they did, her actions where unforgivable. Sure, I'd get jealous, or paranoid every now and again, but it started when she started hanging around with an old friend. We'd fallen out one night, and she stormed off, I went after her to find some guy lingering outside my door. He stopped me and claimed to be seeing my girlfriend. Shit happened, and I woke up the next morning, in bed with her again. I probably should have drawn the line there, but I didn't, I gave her another chance. There was another instance where some guy was 'thanking her for last night' followed by a winking smiley. it's not allot too go off, I know, but still, you're gonna think! (Still had the nerve to accuse me of cheating at every possible opportunity) Then there was argument number 2, where her friend told me a guy who had previously been flirting with her, had grabbed and sexually abused her. I just lost it, and I told her her to file a statement about it, which she didn't do, because it turned out it was all untrue.. Now imagine, if someone had filed a case against that guy, his life would be ruined. After all the fireworks, and a year of hell, my family wanted her out. So she left, and I was still with her at the time. However, she left me after day 3. Soon after, I'm at a venue, watching some bands playing, having a few beers, suddenly, Riot vans, police cars and all sorts pull up, and grab me, claiming I look like a described offender. Turns out she had told the authorities that I had threatened her with a sword, and on top of that, I supposedly have violant tendencies. Yeah, I'd been angry at her before, but nothing more than a slandering match. I got put in jail, got given a shiny new criminal record, and am now no longer aloud in America, brilliant. So the officer who interviewed me tells me start a new chapter, and get her out of my life, I did just that, a year went by. Suddenly, she appears in my social circle, I'm miffed, but I think 'What could go wrong?' and I accept it, and even talk to her. But suddenly, she's dating my best friend and I'm like ''What the hell?'' So from there on, I completely blanked her. I remained friends with this guy, as he was unaware of previous event's. I get the feeling she did this to spite me, as when they where kissing, she opened her eyes and stared right into mine. I ignored that. Now, she's cheating on my friend with a guy abroad and I don't want too tell him. I'm the only person that knows, but it's not just that. She's there, stealing my friends, living an awesome life, or rather, MY OLD life, whilst I'm here, with severe depression, social anxiety that she helped to induce, no motivation and basically everything I had taken away from me. I feel like she has completely ruined my life, my future, everything. I used to be a popular, outgoing person, who loved people. Now I'm a psychotic, underweight wreck. my friend used to be brothers, now they're just friends, more like colleagues or something. In conclusion I wanna say, I've changed, alot, and not for the better, because of somebody else's horrible deeds, and I want to know what to do? Who should I talk to? How can I get back on the rails? And how should I respond to her in the future?

Answer
omg right i know you must have feelings for said girl but believe me she sounds terrible.. anyone that gets you behind bars despite you forgiving her for her stupid deeds every time,, is a waste of time.. especially her flaunting about the fact that shes with your friend.. why dont you give her back some of her own medicine.. go out with one of her friends in front of her.. obviously dont play aroun donly do it if you like the girl or atleast get to know them. i know things like this and people in our life affect us so badly that we get anxious and ill but seriously she isnt worth it. she sounds terrible and if i coudl talk to her i wud tell her that because im ashamed that there are girls like that, forget her. dont give a crap about her. blank her completely and if she shows off the fact shes with ur friend smile right back at her... it will strike her. she doesnt want you happy she wants to bother you and so dont let it work.. live your old life with new people and rub it in her face. what she did to you was terrible and you and your family were too big hearted to get rid of her ealier. good luck.
