best tent camping heater image
One which generates the heat solely due to spin, perpetual motion, Faraday's law of induction, etc.? I thought of a model which has smaller circular permanent magnets in special positions on opposing fan blades with one large perpetual magnet on the bottom of each mini fan (6+) to create perpetual spin due to opposing magnetic fields, and one large vertically-spinning magnet attached to the fronts of each fan, which spins 'with' the fan to induce an opposing current (Faraday) into one large copper-wound coil placed in front of every spinning magnet/fan, thus, generating electricity (from each perpetually-spinning magnet on each fan creating AC in the copper coil) to heat another coil inductively which the perpetually-spinning fans then blow air over to generate heat.
Those would work well and keep optimum temperature used inside tents, camping, while outdoors when the sun goes down and the weather gets cooler and such simply by physically spinning/setting the fans in perpetual motion. Indoor uses as well.

Although it's quite easy to make a device that uses induction to generate heat and perhaps some levitation to make it all look magical. It takes an abysmal ignorance to think it's a perpetual motion device.

What options do I have for heating a tent?

I plan to be out camping in colder temperatures and was wondering what options I have for heating the inside of the tent for a few hours in the evening before going to sleep. I've seen propane heaters that can be used in a tent with ventilation, but these seem kindof dangerous and I want to play it safe. Tent size is about 10' x 10' x 6' tall. Any other ideas? Thanks.
Answer
A canvas tent that size, made with a stove jack, can be heated with a small wood stove and is wonderful in the cold.
If this is the typical nylon tent, then your choices are more limited.
There are propane tent furnaces, where the combustion takes place outside and the heated air is blown in. Usually requires at least a 12 volt battery.
A small electric heater works if you have power nearby. Even an electric blanket!
Flame of any sort is a huge concern, both for fire and CO/CO2. A candle lantern is fairly safe, but provides little heat. A propane or gas lantern can help take the chill off, but do not sleep with it running, same with stoves and radiant heaters.
The most prudent, would be simply pack extra blankets/sleeping bags and dress for the cold so that you do not need heat. A hat helps. A nalgene bottle filled with boiling water and tossed into the foot of your sleeping bag is just heavenly!
Chemical hand warmers can be used to warm/dry footwear. A big plus in cold AM comfort.
