Cheapest backyard camping tent for 3 people?

lacrossisd

Hey guys im looking for the cheapest (but biggest!) camping tent out there... Myself and 2 friends are just gonna sleep outside during the summer for fun.. We're not professionals in any way lol, we just are gonna have some fun..

Does anyone know what tent is the biggest/cheapest?? (under 50 bucks??)

Thanks soooo much everyone.. in advance!

Answer
Agree with Fuzzy.
Cowboy Tenting has the tarp rigged low and pitched two directions to shed moisture.
If windy and wet lower pitch to within an inch of ground cover.
Biker Tenting rolls machine to anchor one edge. Lift over parked machine and pitch
low over prone biker(s). Machine helps support windward wall. Having a tree to lean
heavy metal against will deter being mashed accidentally.
Tarp lay in natural basins can collect rainwater for sponge bathing, etc.

where can i find a cheap camping tent?

I need a tent, preferably under $30 that can fit 3-4 people.

Answer
You can find a cheap five by seven tent at department stores for about $35. You will also need a tube of seam sealer if you intend to use the tent with a chance of rain.

Any advice on a cheap, durable camping tent?

Dave S

Im looking for a small dome tent, not more than 2 or 3 people max and was wondering if anyone had any good experiences with a tent like this that is under 100$ and if anyone can tell me why they like it. it is just important that it is WATER/WEATHERPROOF. i hate the rain...i just want to be able to chill out in the woods by myself and have a tent for me, my gear, and no water.

Answer
Avoid WalMart and Sears -- their products are not well engineered and tend to have seam leakage issues, pole breakage and condensation problems. Most of your dampness problems in camping come not from rain leaking in but your body and breath moisture not getting out. You need a tent with good ventilating design and a well made rain fly that won't touch the inner tent wall and can protect the open screens from blowing rain so you can leave them open for air flow.

Look at http://www.campmor.com
Their on-line catalog has dozens of good tents and they always have close-outs and special deals. I know there are a several models that would meet your requirements under $100. They have good comparision charts with dimensions, weights and other specs. They give great customer service and will ship quickly. All they stock are brand names that will provide warrantees and support, if for example, you lost a pole or needed a new rain fly.

If you plan to camp in the rain, look for a tent with a lot of ventilation, a fly with good overhang and with a large outside vestibule to stash gear. Less costly tents tend not to have seam sealer added so order a tube of seam seal, set up your tent when you get it and run a line of the sealer over all the exposed seams. It's kind of tedious but it helps a lot in the end. Choose a lighter or brighter color (avoid blue and dark green). Those new battery operated LED lights are great for inside the tent -- I got a disc shaped one with 12 bulbs that hangs up under the ceiling of my tent and makes it really easy to read or play cards during a storm. Another thing that helps keep condensation down in humid weather is a small battery operated fan you run at night to suck air out near the base of the door. Adding a lightweight nylon tarp with grommets and some nylon cord to your gear will help too -- you can rig a canopy over your site between trees to add protection to your tent and to give you a place to sit out during the day if it showers. Two or three people (or even just yourself) trapped inside a tent during a few days of heavy rain is a recipe for mental health breakdowns :-)

Looking for free tent camping on the beach, or some good and cheap tent camping locations!

Answer
If you will look at the over-developed appearance of South Padre Island, then you will realize that there are no remote camping locations.

If you are really into "roughing it", you can still park an RV or pitch a tent on the vast stretch of beach north of town, but be forewarned: They don't deliver pizza out there. A few precautions will help keep you unstuck and unhassled by the authorities:

Will it be worth it to take my tent through Europe?

rusted_gut

I am planning to travel Europe mainly by bicycle alone. Probably Greece-italy-Slovenia-Austria-Germany-
Will it actually save money to bring my tent with? Or should I rather leave the hassle of the tent and sleep in hostels. What will be the cheapest?
I have a feeling it may be cheaper to go by hostels, because i have to pay for my tent site, and not for one person as I would have at a hostel. Or maybe I am wrong... could camping be cheaper?

Answer
Get your backpack packed-
The most important item you will need for your backpacking tour of Europe is, of course, the backpack. Suitcases are bulky and hard to lug around everywhere. Plus, your looking to save money and backpacking is the way to do it. So, on the to backpack itself. This piece of gear will be your best friend on your trip and you need to make sure you get the bag that is right for your body and needs. Most major sporting goods stores will carry backpacks and have a very well informed staff that can fit a back to you that will fit your needs perfectly. Don't settle on this step. If you have to try on twenty backpacks until you find the one that offers the most comfort then so be it. These stores should also have weight bags they can place inside of your backpack so that you can know how they will feel with a heavy load in them. Again, do NOT settle on this step, you will regret it later.

Housing-
So you've bought your backpack. Pat yourself on the back because you are now on your way! The next item you will want to pick up is a lightweight tent. Camping is by a mile the cheapest way to travel through Europe.

Touch down-
So you've made it to Europe! Yay! Time to take out that guide book and find a place to stay, get set up and hit the town! Have fun!

Do you suppose it would be cheaper to build a mansion entirely out of lego or buy a brick and mortar one?

Hi

Or work in an office tower made of lego?

Not necessarily a HOUSE house but would it be feasible even as a holiday house or a huge tent for camping. I mean what are your thoughts on lego as a construction material? Or offices
I'm so sorry about that last sentence. Please please it's an accident. I didn't mean to sound like I'm one of those annoying trolls. Thanks in advance for understanding.

Answer
Legos are really expensive!!! Trust me, I have a six-year-old.
I think you're better with brick and mortar, honestly.
Plus, Legos will fade in the sun, and I don't think they have great insulating qualities...
