best tent camping lake tahoe image

Me and a few of my friends are goin camping in 2 weeks on a sandbar..we've got the typical beer, fire, tent, and hot dogs but what are some ways we can make it fun and interesting? I've never been camping before! Any ideas help :)

Obviously, 2 weeks on a sand bar? that trip is dead in the sand before it even gets started I don't buy that story at all. 18-25 year olds need action and excitement head to a destination that has more things to do. Hiking, biking, swimming, fishing, hunting, climbing, canoeing, sailing, boating, rafting, caving, offroading but anything other than a sand bar. Head to one of the many mountain lakes this country has near a community with action and supplies Lake Tahoe, Lake Powell, Lake Isabella, Shasta Lake all have this kind of fun and and more.

What are some good snow areas that I can rent a cabin in northern california?

Friends an I are planing a get away for late.january or early february, its about 15 of us, does anybody knw of nice sites, with good cabins where we can snow board for the first time and use sleds and what not? Itll be our first time going to the snow..

Many places around Lake Tahoe can help you out. Since you want to snow board and that requires a lift ticket, I suggest not getting a cabin, but staying at one of the resorts. I'll name a few where they have accommodations:
Squaw Valley
Northstar
Heavenly Valley
Sugar Bowl
If you still want a cabin, look for one in or near Tahoe City to be close to several resorts. Another option is to tent camp or RV at Sugar Pine Point resort where you can do cross country right outside your RV.
BTW, my son is a snow board instructor and he highly suggest you take a lesson to learn to snowboard, especially since none of you have even been to the snow before.
