Where can I go open camping in Maryland?

Not sure if open camping is a common phrase, but I am wondering where I can go camping in Maryland without having to camp in a campground. While I was in WV/PA area for college, there were plenty of places that not only allowed but encouraged just going to a state forest, walking several miles into the forest and pitching a tent. Most of the state parks and state forest I see in Maryland mention campgrounds. So are there any good open camping site in Maryland, preferably by the bay?

Chesapeake Forest Lands

66,302 acres on 240 separate tracts, spread across eight counties of Marylandâs lower Eastern Shore, the Chesapeake Forest Lands are Comprised of the former Chesapeake Forest Products Company lands plus several recent additions which include both the Seth Demonstration Forest in Talbot County and the Wicomico Demonstration Forest in Wicomico County. Pocomoke State Forest

6572 Snow Hill Road, Snow Hill, MD 21863 (410) 632-3732. 13,629 acres in Worcester County, between Snow Hill and Pocomoke City. The forest is famous for its stand of loblolly pine trees. Cypress swamps border the Pocomoke River and the nearby waters provide good fishing. Two areas in the forest, including the swamp, are designated Wildlands Areas.

Are there any good places to camp deep in the woods in eastern PA?

we don't like camping right next to our cars or other campers

Hickory Run State Park has some good remote tenting sites. I camped there years ago in the dead of winter, on a near-zero degree night, and it was awesome (of course, NO one was around at that time!)
