My friends and I want to go camping this summer for one of my friend's birthday. We live a little north of Seattle, Washington. Some place that isn't too rural, but is still considered camping. Also would be nice if it can accommodate larger groups.
(I am asking early, because I know that some places start taking reservations in January and fill up fast)

There are numerous state and county parks - some even have cabins or yurts for those who don't have a tent. Here are some ideas:
Tolt-MacDonald County Park: http://www.kingcounty.gov/recreation/parks/inventory/toltmacdonald.aspx
Kyak Point County Park: http://www1.co.snohomish.wa.us/Departments/Parks/Park_Information/Park_Directory/Regional_Parks/KayakPointRegionalPark.htm
Flowing Lake County Park: http://www1.co.snohomish.wa.us/Departments/Parks/Park_Information/Park_Directory/Regional_Parks/Flowing_Lake.htm
Cama Beach State Park: http://www.parks.wa.gov/camabeach/
There are several other state parks that accept group reservations. None of them are what I would consider all that rural - it's really pretty civilized - you've got bathrooms, water, picnic tables, firewood for sale, rangers and/or camp hosts if you need anything or to answer questions and quite a few other campers around

I just went camping and actually slept outside for the first time Saturday night! I had the time of my life!! What was I missing??
Who else loooves camping?
We had a great fire going, tons of beer and rum! tons of munchies! Wow, what a great time!! The fire keeps the bugs away, and our tent was HUGE!! I loved just listening to all the sounds of the wilderness! So great!

Just got back... Spent the weekend almost 3,000 ft. up on the side of Green Mt. in WA. state.. Fri and Fri night was OK.. Sat was great but Sat. night the rain hit... I mean IT CAME DOWN !!
But us Pacific Northwest folks are used to the rain.. We hunkered down and enjoyed it all..
As another poster said above... The right sleeping bag and the right tent. Makes all the difference..
