Is there any free campsite(tent) in perth?

Q. Any free campsite(encamp, not caravan) in the perth?
can i encamp on the beach? thx
yeah, how about the city beach?

Answer
Beach camping is illegal but having said that, there are a lot of people who beach camp and don't get caught. Most of the time the rangers turn a blind eye to the odd beach camper except at places like Wedge Island where there are to many people who started camping and people were drinking and leaving a mess behind. If you want to beach camp I'd stay on secluded beaches. City Beach is a swimming beach and they definitely wouldn't allow camping.

The free camp sites are national parks, sometimes they require a token donation, go to this website to check them out http://www.dec.wa.gov.au/campgrounds/dec-campgrounds.html. Sandy Cape at Jurien Bay (3 hours north of perth) is a token payment campground right by the beach. Only toilet facilities but it's cheap to stay there.

Good luck. Camping is great fun.

work camping in washington state?

Q. i need a place to live really bad and i just don't really have the money for independent living in a house share or one bedroom apartment. are there campgrounds you can just live at? maybe even do some work and earn some money? i just want a simple life. i have a car and a small income. and i'm a nice guy :) i'm even down to live in a tent full time.

Answer
Well not in your understanding there are jobs to be found in the camping field the best being called a "campground host" these jobs get free long term camping and sometimes a salary in exchange for light duty maintenance at a campground. They require you to have a background in maintenance and a camping trailer or RV. Here is a link to help you find one
http://www.parks.wa.gov/volunteers/hosting/

As for just camping as a place to live you are limited to a 10-15 day stay in anyone particular place and then must move on 20+ miles from that location.

Good Luck!

Where should we go camping?

Jenna

My friends and I want to go camping this summer for one of my friend's birthday. We live a little north of Seattle, Washington. Some place that isn't too rural, but is still considered camping. Also would be nice if it can accommodate larger groups.
(I am asking early, because I know that some places start taking reservations in January and fill up fast)

Answer
There are numerous state and county parks - some even have cabins or yurts for those who don't have a tent. Here are some ideas:
Tolt-MacDonald County Park: http://www.kingcounty.gov/recreation/parks/inventory/toltmacdonald.aspx
Kyak Point County Park: http://www1.co.snohomish.wa.us/Departments/Parks/Park_Information/Park_Directory/Regional_Parks/KayakPointRegionalPark.htm
Flowing Lake County Park: http://www1.co.snohomish.wa.us/Departments/Parks/Park_Information/Park_Directory/Regional_Parks/Flowing_Lake.htm
Cama Beach State Park: http://www.parks.wa.gov/camabeach/
There are several other state parks that accept group reservations. None of them are what I would consider all that rural - it's really pretty civilized - you've got bathrooms, water, picnic tables, firewood for sale, rangers and/or camp hosts if you need anything or to answer questions and quite a few other campers around

Who loves camping??

MentalCase

I just went camping and actually slept outside for the first time Saturday night! I had the time of my life!! What was I missing??
Who else loooves camping?
We had a great fire going, tons of beer and rum! tons of munchies! Wow, what a great time!! The fire keeps the bugs away, and our tent was HUGE!! I loved just listening to all the sounds of the wilderness! So great!

Answer
Just got back... Spent the weekend almost 3,000 ft. up on the side of Green Mt. in WA. state.. Fri and Fri night was OK.. Sat was great but Sat. night the rain hit... I mean IT CAME DOWN !!

But us Pacific Northwest folks are used to the rain.. We hunkered down and enjoyed it all..

As another poster said above... The right sleeping bag and the right tent. Makes all the difference..

Where can I camp / pitch tents on a cross-country bike tour?

Alex

I'm graduating high school in a few weeks and since I'll be taking an infamous 'gap year' between high school and college, I've been planning on biking across the country â my parents are willing to fund the tour as my graduation gift.

I know that most people do these kinds of tours as part of a group but I have heard of others my same age (~18 years old) who complete this on their own; I think doing the trip solo will be a fulfilling challenge and, not to be cliché, but it will also be good for 'self-discovery'. I'm not oblivious to the dangers of doing this on my own, however.

I don't plan to stay at hotels/motels every night so I am wondering where I might be able to camp. I do plan on using campgrounds, but since they may be hard to find at times (and potentially expensive), are there any alternative locations where I would I be able to set up a tent free and legally?

The side of the highway? The middle of a park? Someone's backyard if I ask for their permission? (Couch-surfing may also be part of my plan). I won't be making campfires or anything, I probably won't even 'pitch' the tent (as in nail it to the ground), I simply plan to sleep in a 1-man backpacking tent for a few hours before hitting the road again.

Being honest with myself, a full coast-to-coast tour might be a little ambitious since my funds may be limited, but at the very least I'd like to be able to make it from my hometown of Seattle, WA to Austin, TX â and then back again.

The camping question is the main thing I'm wondering about (I'm researching all other aspects of the tour as well), but if you can offer any answers or advice at all, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

Answer
You should probably check with the various states that you plan to traverse, some allow roadside camping and some do not. As a general rule, roadside rest areas are a viable option, although they may not be the safest place.

Anyone know of a Secluded FREE place to camp in Port angeles, WA?

draco611

I am looking to get out in the woods for 3 day camping trip. It will only be a tent no vehicles. Needs to be secluded and free. Want to be able to have a small fire. Does anyone know of such a place? It CAN be campgrounds i don't mind other ppl as long as i have my own spot.. Any info or ideas would be appreciated Thanks.

Answer
Heart 'O the Hills is just south of Port Angeles and has camp spots, but not free. If you hike up to Lake Angeles from where you enter the Park (near Heart 'O the Hills) it is free. Also you might consider the nearby Heather Park Trail. But... you need to hike a few miles (up hill) to get away from people. It is all popular around that area. You cannot camp at Hurricane Ridge unless you make arrangements with the Ranger to take you up and back, which they will do for free. That is in Olympic National Park. If I had three days I'd hike up the Quinault, Hoh or Queets rivers to some of the best wilderness places in the park (or anywhere!). You also might consider the wilderness beaches hikes. But if it is good weather and a weekend, expect people. good luck.

Where can I go camping that I don't need a reservation and isn't overly populated?

Jordan

So, some friends and I (6 of us, to be precise) are planning on going camping on Memorial Day Weekend. The original plan was to go to Orcas Island, but after looking at the ferry fees we decided to find an alternate plan. However, all the state parks are completely booked already, and it's looking impossible to find a place to camp. It would be great if I could find someplace that may not necessarily be a campground in the strictest sense, but would still accommodate 3 2-person tents, without us getting in trouble for being there. Wilderness is great. We're just looking for a good camping experience. Any suggestions?

Answer
Orcas Island is 57 square miles of Washington State. I always thought that it was named after killer whales. I believe that you have a few other places from which to choose in Washington State. Try the National Forests.

Washington

Colville National Forest
Gifford Pinchot National Forest
Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forests
Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument
Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest
Olympic National Forest

Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forests is the closest to you.

best to check with WA forest rangers, that can be a dangerous place to camp depending on your survival skills level.
