best tents for kayak camping image

I'm looking for a tent camping spot on a lake in Missouri (electric or not) where we can swim at the campsite and have our kayaks and canoes in the water right there. A place where we don't have to climb down a bluff or take a hike just to get to the water.

My favorite place is Nianga, the campsites have access to the river bed and lakes around it where you can just walk right up and swim. They also provide the canoes if you want to do that but it is still a little cold here.
Now if you are looking for a place to fish and camp, Truman Lake, outside of Clinton, MO is a great spot. You will have access to the beaches and places to camp, fish, kayak, etc.

Can you train a cat to come camping with you?

Ok so I have kind of rescued a cat but i often go away in my camper van on weekends climbing or kayaking.
Does anyone have any experience of taking a cat camping in a van or tent? I.e. can you go somewhere and let them out and will they come back or roam off?
Any advice or suggestions welcome.
Answer
When you get a cat, they say you shouldn't let it out for 6 weeks, so that it gets used to it's environment, before you let it roam on its own.
When you do let them out they tend not to go too far at first because they are unsure, so this could be the case if you go camping, but i really wouldn't recommend it.
The cat won't know where she is, so may find it difficult to return and may well get lost.
As she is a rescue cat as well, she may find being left in a new environment a little scary and you don't want her to run of because she feels abandoned again.
I really wouldn't recommend taking the cat with you. Instead put her in kennels while you are away, or ask a neighbour to pop in and feed her. I know some people have probably done this with no problems, but I know how I would feel if we lost our cat!
