tents for camping perth image

I am planning to go on a working holiday around Australia (starting in Perth, where I live) for about a year, in between finishing Yr 12 and Uni. I'm going to stop along the way where I can get a job and stay for about a month, maybe more. As accommodation, I am planning on living in my car (4wd, jeep or station wagon) and sleeping in the back. Would backpacker hostels let me park on their property and hopefully let me use their bathrooms/kitchen if I pay half the cost they usually charge for a night, since I wouldn't be using any of their rooms?
Answer
Some hostels have spaces for tent campers and you might be able to do this and pay the camping rate. Otherwise NO, as the hostels are only rated for a certain number of people and you will be extra to that.
Why not go to a campground instead? Lots of Aussie campgrounds have showers/toilets and kitchens and it will be a lot cheaper than a hostel. The difference is that the camp kitchens generally don't have utensils so you'll need to kit yourself out with cooking and eating gear, and a gas stove is handy. Many of them do have fridges/freezers so with a coolbox and some ice bricks it will work.
I did this for three months in Victoria and South Australia and it worked fine; i recommend a tent and a mattress too, much more pleasant than sleeping in the car.

Hej, so we are off to Perth for the summer and we're not expecting to get a place to stay due to the housing problem so we might just camp for a while as a last resort or plan C if you like, plan A would be an apartment ANYWHERE close'ish to the city, plan B is to share a place with some older people, w'ere in are mid 30 so we want somewhere fairly quiet but I have a feeling we are going to have to be there to secure a place or room etc. So how much are the camp sites to put up a tent for a week or 2.
Appreciate any info.
not to bad then I assume there will be plenty of room all year round.
Thanks.
