A great place for tent camping within 2 hours of Atlanta?

I'm looking for a camping spot but I'm new to GA. I prefer to use a tent and it's nice to be in a secluted area. "Can't stand those cookie cut camp grounds. Any Ideas where I can go?

Do I need to worry about a bear attack in North Georgia?

I am taking a trip to the Blue Ridge area of North Georgia with some family who are staying in a cabin in October. I haven't been camping in a while and I wanted to take my backpack and tent and go on an overnight trip. The only thing is I'm nervous about bears. I live in Columbus Ga and usually go camping in the Pine Mountain area which I know alot better than North Ga due to the fact I've never been. Should I be cautious in October? Any pointers?

well usually if you do run into a bear just flap your arms and scream, it will think your after its eggs and fly back to its nest
