Looking for really weird/unique accommodation in Sydney Australia?

zayco99

Hi guys,

going down to sydney in november for my cousins wedding, and I want something weird... unique.. strange in terms of accommodation. Something interesting. I've tried looking but not much is coming up. help?

Answer
Lane cove river national park - tourist park (short term full service chalets, vans or bring your own)

10kms from Sydney's city centre, 10 minutes walk to the nearest train station. Right on the Lane Cove river surrounded by national park (they have security too). You would never know you were right in the heart of the city, yet there you are. You stay covers entry fees into the park too.

Camping on Cockatoo Island.

Right in the centre of Sydney Harbour, 10 mins ferry ride from Circular Quay. Bring your tent for $50AUD or hire one of their sites with a Tent, beds mattresses and chairs already setup for $100AUD. That still has to be on of the cheapest and most panoramic stays in Sydney. If you don't like roughing it, they also have 4 holiday homes and two luxury apartments for rent as well.

Taronga Zoo Roar and Snore

Camp in Safari tents in the most famous zoo in Australia, waking up to views of the opera house and the harbour bridge. Get to see the animals and go behind the scenes as part of the package. Everything is provided (including meals) all you need to do is bring yourself. Note - stay is overnight only.

A haunted stay at the old Quarrantine Station - North Head.

B&B stay and do the scary night Ghost Tour (its really freaky believe me) of the old Quarantine station.

Where can I 'properly' camp in the blue mountains, NSW?

Q. I mean properly as in sleeping in a tent, not an unadventurous lodge or hotel, that feels properly far away from civilisation, but close enough if we needed help.

Me and my best mate and his cousin are thinking about taking a good old aussie road trip from south east qld to windsor, sydney (to see best mate's big bro) than head out to the mountains for some camping and hiking. Anyone have any idea of pricing? We're thinking about a week or two.
Oh yeah, it'll be during the NSW shool term, so holiday rip-off pricing shouldn't be an issue.

I'm a uni student so any tips for saving money would be greatly appreciated too!

Answer
There are numerous excellent spots to camp along the short bushwalks around Katoomba.

Also around the Blackheath site.
