I would have to say Big Sur or Yosemite, although there are many wonderful places to camp in Northern California!

Big Sur because it's on the coast, the scenery is beautiful, there are a variety of camping options from environmental walk-in campsites to RV parking, it has a Bohemian atmosphere, there are opportunities for whale watching, and it's just plain funky & fun. I'm looking for a place that has green grass (not dirt) where the tent sites are and a gorgeous view...anyone got any recommendations??

Slab City California is all that comes to mind for me. Hope that helps.
