Where to camp near Willamette Valley, Oregon?

Steve

Looking to do some wine tastings and need to find a place to camp near Yamhill/Newberg area in the Willamette Valley. I've found Champoeg State Park, Willamette Mission State Park and Rocky Bend Campsite. Any thoughts? We'd be doing "primitive" camping - i.e. sleeping in a tent. Thanks

There is a great camp site outside of Carlton that would be perfect - Yestucca River Camping... try it!

CAN Foxes be dangerous? - thinking of camping in back yard?

Alot of them around this area will run away from you, however I'm wondering if they came into my back yard, and I would be asleep in a tent if they would try anything ?
I'm 22 so I guess if the little bastards wake me up I can defend myself,
I just hear horrible stories of foxes mauling children to death haha , and its not as if I'm a big person

There are foxes where I live & they come into town, to my house. (city of nearly 100K) Never heard of a fox attacking a person but would not chance it if one was on my property(they have been) I can tell you that a small animal like a fox/coon/badger/coyote is not to be trifled with, they can & will bite you & you won't like it one bit. Small predators seem to find house pets to be a delicious meal as do birds of prey such as owls or hawks. Most animals will give you plenty fo space & I suggest you do the same. I have a german shepherd which does not scare the local coons one bit so watch it. Don't know where you are but i lived in Bend, Oregon for many years & we had mountain lions in town on plenty of occasions, one even ate a pet dog in it's own yard. For sure give them a way out.
