cheap tent camping southern california image
Jennifer
I want to surprise my boyfriend for his birthday by planning a trip for us. I was thinking anywhere from a roundtrip Mexican cruise to a quiet in-cabin camping trip by a lake. We both live in Southern California area so it would be great if it were around there.
Also, any romantic/themed hotel suggestions would be awesome.
We're both college students, too, so I'm hoping to keep this fairly cheap. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thank you!

I think camping would be pretty cheap and can be romantic. Oh, I see now you are talking about having a cabin... that will up the price a bit. If you are tent camping, it can be as little as $10 a night. And there are lots of beautiful places in California to stay.
If you were to cruise to Mexico, I'm not sure what the cost would be. From Galveston to Mexico, a 5-day cruise and be as little as $300 per person.

Free California Campground? PLEASE 5 POINTS!?

I am heading on a camping trip from Southern California and i'm looking for a free campground or up to 10 dollars a night that also has electrical outlets by the camping tent area. Any help would be appreciated and ill be sure to give the best answer to the best answer FAST! Thank you!!! =]

Sorry, I'm not Santa Claus.
There is NO place like that in SoCal. State Campgrounds WITHOUT electrical outlets are over $40 per night. Be prepared to pony up some money or stay home.
BTW, how can you offer 5 points? Best answer is worth 10 points. Sheesh.
Camping World is not camping, it's RV'ing. No tent camping. Sheesh.
And no National Park allows free camping "anywhere". The "Yellow Box" campsites are cheap, but VERY remote and difficult to get to. And they are primitive, with NO electricity and NO water (and no toilets, either), which is why I didn't bother mentioning them.
